Cleaning the harbor since

Join over 300 scuba divers and above-water volunteers who will be deployed around Newport Harbor to collect trash, plastics, and other water pollutants in a dedicated effort to keep the 25.2 miles of coastline, bay, and harbor waterways pollution-free. Volunteers collected over 5,000 pounds of trash and single-use plastics from the Newport Harbor during the last cleanup.

Newport Harbor Underwater Cleanup

  • 7:00 - Volunteer check-in, location assignments, hosted breakfast

  • 7:30 - Skippers report to assigned vessels

  • 8:15 - Mandatory volunteer safety meeting at the main stage

  • 9:00 - Volunteers deploy on dive boats (divers) and the Discovery Boat (above water)

  • 9-11 - Cleanup commences

  • 10-11 - Exhibitor roundtable (tentative)

  • 11:30 - Volunteer group photo

  • 11:30 - Raffle tickets and prizes, recognitions

Waiver For All Volunteers

  • All volunteers will need to sign a waiver to participate. Please click the link below to complete and electronically sign the NHUC waiver. Scuba divers will need their certification card to complete the waiver.
